Had a family member in this hospital, she was admited for a few days. She had a stroke, but was sent home without any medication, or any type of assistance. Half of her body is paralyzed and cannot speak at all. She cannot recieve medical assistant because, she makes more than 400.00 dollars a month. Really i do not understand that, we do not live in another country we live in america. To qualify for benefits you have to be living on the street and nobody can help. Need an answer!!!!!!

My mom has been 7 days. She is 99 and confused. Dr ordered that someone stay w her in what they call one on one. All of a sudden the nurses made the determination that it was not needed and I was in formed that she never had it. I informed the nurse that she had it since she has been there and she said that she reviewed her record and that it has never been there. I guess I was lying. The doctor happened to be here and he came over to her and explained it to her and that she needed someone with her. They had her w someone but as soon as I left they moved her to another room w no on watching her. She kept complaining that there was something on her back and I thought her gown was bundled but after checking her again she was laying on the heart monitor. I should just pull her and take her home. I helped. Fed her breakfast and lunch. This is terrible.

I would give zero. My mother was told by the doctors here that she had a tumor in her Kidney and that they would have to remove the kidney which was not true. The tumor was outside the kidney. They sent her home with a catheter and she returned the next day because it kept getting clogged turns out they sent her home twice with a catheter that was to small for her so we took her back again the next day and they drained her bladder then gave her a bigger size catheter sent her home she went straight back because they forgot to air up the catheter but of course they didnt cAtch that they sent her home AGAIN so finally after the 5th time they saw they forgot to inflate meanwhile she is in terrible pain and they are makiing her feel as if she is bothering them and as if she is the one making the rookie mistakes. Outrageous. These nurses lack experience in basic nursing they lack empathy and lack self control. This hospital is a joke on its best day. My mother had to be taken to San Antonio to have doctors and staff who actually know what they are doing. I feel so bad for the people in Brownsville who have no other choice but to see these clowns. Please people if you come here and get a serious diagnosis please seek a second opinion else where it could cost you or your loved ones life. I will be reporting the doctors and nurses to the board of doctors for negligence.

This hospital was awful!! I am not giving it a full star not even half a star! Got checked in the emergency room and was told by the head nurse I had shingles after I told her I stepped in an ant hill and am having a bad reaction, then was sent to the TX ROOM where I sat for over an hour before a nurse or anyone came in, I finally asked a nurse what was going on and he went to find out, only to be told they were extremely busy but someone will be with me shortly! Finally the PA came in and looked at my feet and immediately said I had scabies, it took another hour for them to bring me medicine for the itching and swellings and another 30 minutes to discharge me! Oh by the way I stepped in an ant hill and was attacked by hundreds of ants!! No scabbies, the sores are going away!! Very disappointed and the parking was terrible also!
